The Internal Medicine I is one of the largest cardiological departments in Europe. Its equipment is technically state-of-the-art - both for diagnostics (for example for three dimensional exposures in real time with ultrasound, X-ray, Dyna CT, CMRI) and for the therapy of cardiovascular diseases (for example catheter laboratories with Stereotaxis). Furthermore the "European center for knowledge exchange in cardiac imaging and intervention" (CKE) was founded here as a cooperation platform for medical research and the industry.
