Since 2003 Professor Walter has been in charge of the department of ophthalmology at the University Hospital Aachen. Born in 1963 the physician earned his medical degree at the University of Cologne where he later worked as temporary Director and Assistant Medical Director. His medical expertise lies in the field of vitreous and retina surgery.Many treatments in the department of ophthalmology are conducted as ambulatory surgeries.

All key aspects of ophthalmology are covered by certified specialists. The department offers international patients the opportunity of clarifying the aspects of treatment beforehand by viewing the medical documentation. The good international contacts also enable the planning of subsequent treatment in the home country.
