Forschungsschwerpunkte

Die Forschungsschwerpunkte der Klinik liegen in der Beurteilung unterschiedlicher Versorgungskonzepte in der klassischen Prothetik und der Implantologie. Auch die Prüfung neuer vollkeramischer Werkstoffe und deren klinischer Bewährung stellen für uns eine wichtige Säule der wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeit dar. In diesem Zusammenhang sind auch interdisziplinäre Projekte im Forschungsschwerpunkt der RWTH "Medizin und Technik" geplant. Des Weiteren beschäftigt uns die wissenschaftliche Herangehensweise an die Frage "Was sind überhaupt schöne Zähne und wie beeinflussen wir als Zahnärzte durch unsere Behandlung die Lebensqualität unserer Patienten." Hier stellt sich uns auch die Frage, mit welcher möglichst schonenden Therapie man den größten Gewinn an Lebensqualität erreicht.

  • Experimentelle und klinische Forschung zur Biokompatibilität von zahnärztlichen Werkstoffen 

  • Klinische Untersuchungen zu metallfreien Restaurationen in der ästhetischen Zahnheilkunde

  • Werkstoffkundliche und klinische Untersuchungen zu dentalen Keramiken und Zementen auf Polymerbasis

  • Experimentelle und klinische Untersuchungen zur Biomechanik des Kausystems bei natürlichen Zähnen und Implantaten

  • Epidemiologische Untersuchungen zur Qualitätssicherung in der zahnärztlichen Prothetik
