Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
Prior to starting the M.Sc. Biomedical Engineering studies, candidates must have passed the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test. Students who hold a degree from a German university (or a university within the EU), according to the regulations for universities (Geltungsbereich des Hochschulrahmengesetz), are not required to perform the GRE general test.
The official GRE report of scores must be received by the RWTH directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The code number for RWTH Aachen is 8504.

More information on the Graduate Record Examination can be found on the GRE homepage [www.gre.org]*.

Application Processing
The International Office is responsible for processing applications and assessment for the fulfillment of the formal requirements for application to a Master's programme at the RWTH Aachen. For more information concerning the formal requirements for application to a Master's programme at the RWTH Aachen, please visit the international office webpage (see below).

If an application fulfills the formal requirements, it will be forwarded to the Faculty of Medicine. The Biomedical Engineering Examination Board then assesses the individual application for fulfillment of the special entrance requirements (degree-specific criteria) to the Biomedical Engineering Master's programme.

The Examination Board first receives the application documents once all applications have been processed by the international office. As this process takes several weeks, the final outcome of an application will be released at the end of April at the earliest.
