Dr. Hill is resident in the Departments of Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesiology at the University Hospital RWTH Aachen. She completed her doctoral thesis on pump less extracorporeal oxygenation as artificial lung for neonates in the Neonatology Section of the Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine at the University Hospital in Cooperation with the Helmholtz Institute of the RWTH Aachen.
As clinical research fellow at 3CARE she focuses on pre- and postoperative nutrition interventions in cardiac surgery patients.
Mr. Clasen is a resident at the Department of Anaesthesiology and the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at the University Hospital RWTH Aachen and a clinician scientist at 3CARE. He is currently completing his doctoral thesis “Can previous training specifically improve the empathy behaviour of medical students in a doctor-patient conversation? A prospective, randomized, video based study.”
His research focus is on nutrition / supplementation. He frequently works for the Centre for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and diving medicine Euregio Aachen, as a pre-hospital emergency doctor and an instructor in the field of emergency medicine.
Ms. Waagmeester studied Laboratory Animal Science at the RWTH Aachen and is the newest member of 3CARE. As master thesis, she performed a systematic review titeled:
Experimental in vivo and in vitro models of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO): A systematic Review.
In our department she works on systematic reviews and she will support our team with various projects.
Mrs. Fitzner is the responsible statistician of 3CARE at the University Hospital of RWTH Aachen. This is complemented by supporting the Department of Anaesthesiology in the planning, conducting and analyzing clinical studies.
Based on years of continuous cooperation with several medical researchers, her biometric knowledge covers a broad spectrum of statistical methods.
