Training leads to success
With Roya Soltan, the Institute for Molecular Cardiovascular Research contains the only practice instructor for research at the RWTH Aachen University Hospital. Roya Soltan, who has been involved in the training of MTA students for many years, completed her training as "Mentor and Practice Instructor in Medical-Technical Health Professions" at the Academy of the Klinikum Dortmund gGmbH from 2012 to 2013, which further strengthens the long-term successful cooperation with the School for Medical Assistants at the University Hospital Aachen.
Thanks to the new concept of providing care for students by certified practice instructors, the School for Medical-Technical Assistants at RWTH Aachen University is one of five model schools to introduce and implement the new training guideline ("Recommendatory Guideline") of the Ministry of Health, Emancipation, Nursing and Old Age (MGEPA) of North Rhine-Westphalia. Roya Soltan accompanies the students in their internships, which take place directly in the IMCAR research laboratory. The whole range of molecular biological methods as well as immunohistochemistry and mouse model investigations will be presented to the prospective Medical-Technical Assistants. This means for the training at the School for Medical Assistants an extension by the additional field "Research", which is exemplary for Aachen.
