Grant of the German Research Foundation (DFG) to Natalia Torow, PhD

Natalia Torow, PhD has received a DFG grant (research project funding) for a 3-year support of her position plus consumables for a project with the title "Homeostatic and infection-induced adaptive immunity in the neonatal small intestine and its functional consequences". This project aims at characterizing antigen recognition by the intestinal mucosal adaptive immune system in the neonate intestine. In addition, the influence of immunostimulatory events (e.g. by gastrointestinal infections) during the early postnatal period on the subsequent mucosal homeostasis will be evaluated.
