At Uniklinik RWTH Aachen, the state will invest around 418 million euros in twelve construction and renovation projects by 2020. The measures are part of the Medical Modernisation Programme of the State of NRW, MedMoP for short.
Medical faculties and university clinics are indispensable for medical progress through excellent research and for the modern training of doctors. They play a key role in health care. A total of around 2.2 billion euros will flow through MedMoP into construction projects at the six university clinics in NRW by 2020. These funds will ensure state-of-the-art and patient-oriented health care.
In Aachen there are a total of twelve measures: four new buildings, including the new central operating theater department, six major construction measures for expansion and restructuring such as radiation medicine and operative intensive care as well as two construction measures for the maintenance of the building and the technology.
