Im Institut für Arbeits-, Sozial- und Umweltmedizin -Forschungszentrum für Elektro-Magnetische Umweltverträglichkeit  ist zum 01.05.2024 eine Stelle als

Doktorand/-in (w/m/d) -Psychologie-

mit der vollen tariflich vereinbarten Arbeitszeit (zzt. 38,5 Std./W.) unter Berücksichtigung des WissZeitVG bis zum 30.9.2026 befristet zu besetzen. Die Option auf Verlängerung und zur Promotion besteht.

Im vorliegenden Forschungszweig werden Aspekte der Wahrnehmung von elektrischen Feldern untersucht. Dafür wird ein eigens für diese Thematik errichtetes Forschungslabor genutzt. Das Thema ist hochaktuell und hat eine praktische Relevanz als Baustein der derzeit stattfindenden Energiewende. 

Aufgaben:

Engagierte wissenschaftliche Mitarbeit und Möglichkeit zur Promotion in einem innovativen Forschungsprojekt.

• Mitarbeit an der Entwicklung und Durchführung experimenteller Designs
• Erhebung von Daten in experimentellen Testungen
• Aufbereitung und statistische Auswertung von quantitativen und qualitativen Messdaten
• Literaturrecherche und thematische Einordnung
• Erstellung wissenschaftlicher Publikationen und Präsentation der Forschungsergebnisse auf nationalen und internationalen wissenschaftlichen Konferenzen

Ihr Profil:

• Abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium (Master) in Psychologie, Biologie oder einem vergleichbaren Studiengang
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse sowie Vorerfahrung in der statistischen Auswertung von Daten mit z. B. SPSS, Statistika, R oder vergleichbarem Statistikpaket
• Erfahrung mit experimentalpsychologischen Testungen z. B. durch Forschungspraktika oder wissenschaftliche Projektarbeit
• Sehr gute  Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse (Level C1)
• Wünschenswert
  • Wahrnehmungspsychologischer Hintergrund
  • Kenntnisse über psychophysische Verfahren
  • Erfahrung im Umgang mit Datenbanken (SQL) sowie MATLAB
• Ausgeprägtes Interesse an wissenschaftlicher Forschung
• Bereitschaft zur interdisziplinären Vernetzung
• Freundliches Auftreten und professioneller Umgang mit Probandinnen/Probanden im Rahmen experimentalpsychologischer Testungen
• Einfühlungsvermögen im Umgang mit Patientinnen/Patienten
• Teamfähigkeit und gute Kommunikationskompetenzen 
• Lösungsorientierung und Flexibilität

Die Vergütung erfolgt in Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L.

The teaching and research area Healthy Living Spaces is seeking a Student assistant (f/m/d) up to 15 hours per week (fewer hours are possible) to support the research team. The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is initially limited until the end of the academic semester. An extension by semester is intended.

The Healthy Living Spaces lab (headed by Prof. Dr. Marcel Schweiker), aims to develop innovative approaches to the design of living spaces and buildings, the analysis of sources of disturbance and the development and establishment of preventive measures. The working group sees itself as an inter- and transdisciplinary link between medical research and relevant research activities from engineering, natural and social sciences.

Tasks

Support in advancing and maintaining a laboratory automation system with Beckhoff in our Aachen Workplace Simulation laboratory located close SuperC building. The Aachen Workplace Simulation lab is a unique laboratory for studies on multi-sensory perception. The automation system provide opportunities to control thermal and visual conditions as well as air quality levels required for the experimental studies.

Your profile:

You are a Bachelor or Master student and are interested in:

• Interdisciplinary, independent and problem-oriented work
• Familiarization and set-up of an automation system
• Programming and HMI development

Preferred skills:

• Dedication to and experience with programming
• Willingness to acquire skills related to Structured Text Programming Language, based on the IEC 61131-3 international standard and user-friendly HMI design through TwinCAT HMI server
• Good knowledge of the English or German language

The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is initially limited until the end of the academic semester. An extension by semester is intended.

The European project MULTICLIMACT (MULTI-faceted CLIMate adaptation ACTions to improve resilience, preparedness and responsiveness of the built environment against multiple hazards at multiple scales) aims to develop tools for supporting public stakeholders and citizens to assess the resilience of the built environment and its people at multiple scales (buildings, urban areas, territories) against locally relevant natural and climatic hazards, and to support them to enhance their preparedness and responsiveness across their life cycle.

• Development of study materials (e.g. online surveys)
• Supporting the multidisciplinary team with data collection
• Data cleaning and visualization
