27.03.2017 - EFORT Congress 2017 in Vienna - update

On the 18th Annual Meeting of the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, the EFORT Congress 2017 in Vienna (31 May – 02 June), the special Highlight Topic “e-Health Applications in Orthopaedic Research: Heaven or Hell?” will be moderated by Dr Holger Jahr of the Department of Orthopaedics (Director: Prof. Markus Tingart).

For this Focus Workshop, eminent international speakers could be gathered, like Dr. Joyce van Meurs from the Dept. of Internal Medicine, Erasmus University Center in Rotterdam, who will talk about “Genetics and genomics of osteoarthritis”. The 2015 DGU Innovation Award Winner Dr.-Ing. Martin Stämmler (Dept. of Electro Technology and Informatics), University of Stralsund, will tell us how we come “From Data Exchange to Collaboration: Current Status and Outlook”, while Dr. Andrew Gordon from the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust will critically address the “Challenges of Big Data in Orthopaedics”. As the second German speaker in that session, Dr. Cord Spreckelsen from the Institute for Medical Informatics, University Hospital RWTH Aachen, will talk about “Challenges of Big Data and Predictive Analytics”.
