AG Grognot obtained a new grand from the DFG, in order to explore how the bacterial pathogen Vibrio cholerae swims in mucus and mucus-like environments. The project entails 3D tracking in different hydrogels, to better understand how motility enhances the chances of the bacterium to cross the mucus layer protecting our mucosa, during the early stages of infection.
