Institute for Computational Genomics

Univ. Prof. Ivan G. Costa

The Institute for Computational Genomics explores cutting edge bioinformatic algorithms and statistical machine learning methods to dissect transcriptional, regulatory and epigenetic programs controlling cell differentiation and pathogenic processes. Current research focus on computational methods to understand how cellular microenvironment changes cause or support diseases as kidney fibrosis, myeloproliferative neoplasms and type 2 diabetes by integrative analysis of transcriptional, chromatin and spatial status of single cells.
