Inaugural Symposium of the Scientific Center for Neuropathic Pain Aachen

The Scientific Center for Neuropathic Pain Aachen (SCNAACHEN) is pleased to invite to its Inaugural Symposium, taking place from 2nd to 3rd of September 2025, at Roemonder Str. 110, Aachen.

At this symposium, we will present the diverse research activities being conducted at SCNAACHEN. We are committed to advancing interdisciplinary and translational research on the mechanisms of neuropathic pain, integrating fundamental science and clinical care to improve patient outcomes. Our research spans in silico modeling, experimental studies, and clinical investigations, leveraging collaborations across neurophysiology, genetics, psychology, and other disciplines to develop innovative therapies for neuropathic pain.

We are delighted to welcome two international keynote speakers: Prof. Dr. Manuela Schmidt from Vienna, who will present "Pain Proteomics for mechanistic insights across species: from microbiota to humans," and Prof. Dr. Susanne Becker from Düsseldorf, who will discuss „Intersections of pain and reward: modulation of perception, behavior, and the role of uncertainty." The talks will be accompanied by concise presentations from SCNAACHEN members, covering the majority of our research spectrum.

A special feature of our symposium is the lab tours, which will take place between 9:00 am and 11:00 am on September 3rd. This will provide a unique opportunity to gain a direct insight into the work performed in our labs and clinics, as well as the activities of our sponsors, and to join one of the eight lab tours.

Our goal is to inspire new concepts, spark discussions, and establish the groundwork for long-term collaborations in neuropathic pain research.
