Sofia de la Puente Secades awarded with Aletta Jacobs Award

At the “Perspectives in Cardiovascular Biology meeting 2025” in Frankfurt am Main, Sofia de la Puente Secades, Postdoc in working group of Joachim Jankowski at the Institute for Molecular Cardiovascular Research (IMCAR) at Uniklinik RWTH Aachen, was awarded the Aletta Jacobs Award by the German Society for Microcirculation and Vascular Biology.  She received this honor for her work recently published in the journal Cardiovascular Research, titled “Vasoconstriction-inhibiting factor: an endogenous inhibitor of vascular calcification as a calcimimetic of calcium-sensing receptor”. 

The Aletta Jacobs award was created in 2018 and it is dedicated to promote female scientists in the field of vascular biology at the start of their career. Eligible are female PhD students, and female Postdocs within one year upon their thesis defense.
