Young Scientists get-together at the Faculty of Medicine

September 26th 2024, 15:30 – 19:30

Change the Universe...

                                  ...Sending out Satellites

On September 26th, 2024, we will continue our journey to change the universe of research at the Faculty of Medicine at the RWTH Aachen University. Young scientists are invited to get together, exchange their experience in science and present some of their work. This time we want to send out satellites to the international but close universities of Maastricht and Liège.

We would be happy if this get-together resulted in long-lasting connections between the young scientists of the faculty.

When and where?
Thursday, September 26th, 15:30 – 19:30 at CT² (Forckenbeckstraße 71, 52074 Aachen)

The afternoon addresses early career researchers (PostDocs and interns, PhD-, MD- and master students) of RWTH, UK Aachen as well as young scientists of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Liège and Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences of the University of Maastricht. However, of course all members of the Faculty of Medicine of the RWTH Aachen University are welcome to join us.

Mathias Hornef (Vice-Dean of Research and Junior Researchers and Equality of Opportunity of the Faculty of Medicine)

Key note and talk:
PhD Laura Surace, Group Leader at the Institute of Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Pharmacology, University Hospital Bonn
Prof. Bernard Rogister, Vice-Dean of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Liège

Poster sessions:
Present your work, engage in discussion and see what others in our faculty have been doing lately. (Registration with or without poster possible.) Early career researchers will be favored.

Flash talks:
Opt-in to our flash talk lottery. If you are selected, you can give a brief flash talk about your research and will get rewarded. (Participation is independent of a poster contribution, presenters are informed a little in advance.)

At a few information points you can find out about topics that could also affect your own research.

Between sessions and after the actual program has been completed, you can focus on meeting and connecting with your peers. Food and drinks are provided at the venue. After the flash talks, you can continue your networking discussions over beats and beer.
