Participation in the study: DELILA.IEQ

The way we perceive the environment as human beings affects how we interact with the building, and in turn, this affects our well-being. Despite the attention given to indoor environmental quality, there is little knowledge about the perception and user behaviour in the home working environment. This question is addressed by a new study of the T&RA Healthy Living Spaces (ukaachen.de) of the Institute of Occupational, Social and Environmental Medicine at the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen in cooperation with Institute of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building (E3D), Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate (EBC) and Institute for Hearing Technology and Acoustics (IHTA), for which voluntary and healthy remote working participants are sought. The study will run until the beginning of December.

You will be in your working space in your home, for 5 consecutive working days. Up to 3 multi-sensory boxes will be placed close to your working space monitoring environmental conditions. Physiological responses such as changes in blood pressure (for one day) and heart rate activity (for the whole period) will be measured by wearing non-invasive measuring devices. On these working days, you will be free to pursue your everyday work and just need to shortly make a note in the diary book and take a photo. On the last day, you should participate in an in-person interview in your working environment. After successful participation and completion of the 5 days, you will receive an expense allowance worth €100. Any travel expenses incurred are to be borne by you.
