Congratulations on the successful defence of your doctoral thesis, “Short-and long-term functional consequences of infection-induced cytokine stimulation of the intestinal epithelium in the neonatal host”, on 9 July 2026! This study investigates the impact of infection on the postnatal maturation of the intestinal epithelium and demonstrates how changes in gene expression might contribute to the burden of disease.
