Cardiac Imaging
Our Scientific Focus
We are pleased to work as a strong team on all questions related to cardiac imaging in the fields of echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). The department is equipped with numerous echocardiography devices (including high-end devices such as the EPIQ CVx from Philips and the VIVID E95 Ultra Edition from GE) and a dedicated cardiac magnetic resonance scanner (1.5T) from Philips. Our working group combines clinical expertise with modern medical technology, data-driven analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Through close clinical and scientific collaborations with the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, the Clinic for Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Defects, the Clinic for Pneumology and Internal Intensive Care Medicine, as well as the Clinic for Neurology, we ensure cross-disciplinary, holistic diagnostics and promote translational research approaches at the interfaces of specialties.
Focus Areas of the Working Group:
- Echocardiography: Transthoracic (TTE), Transesophageal (TEE), Stress Echocardiography, 3D/4D Echocardiography, Speckle-tracking Strain Analysis, Contrast Echocardiography, Interventional Echocardiography.
- Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMR): Functional Analysis, Feature-tracking Strain Analysis, Tissue Characterization (Mapping, Late Gadolinium Enhancement), Perfusion, Flow Measurements, MR Angiography.
