Intensivmedizin

Research focus
  • Acute heart failure, cardiogenic shock
  • Sepsis
  • ARDS
  • Extracorporeal therapies
  • Prognostication in critical care
  • Inhaled sedation on the ICU

Our research focus spans from examining epidemiologic factors for critical illness to prognostic models for short- and long-term outcomes using clinical data as well as tranditional and new biomarkers. One group of specific interest in this are patients in need of extracorporeal therapies like CRRT, ECMO or adsorption therapies. We run projects on prognostication in critical care. Another special interest is the novel use of inhaled sedation in critical care in general and in specific patient populations.
