In collaboration with neonatologists of the RWTH University Hospital Aachen and colleagues from the University Hospital Maastricht (NL), Niels studied changes of the early enteric microbiome of preterm neonates under oral administration of probiotic bacteria. The results of this study were now published in Gut Microbes.
