New 3-Tesla MRI Scanner

A new 3-tesla MRI scanner is currently being installed at University Hospital Aachen’s Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics. The Magnetom Prisma’s gradient field strength and gradient slew rate are unrivalled by any other 3-tesla system currently on the market. The new device, which replaces the 3-tesla Trio, has improved parallel imaging technology and a new 64-channel head coil. This will enable excellent spatial and temporal resolution for imaging studies of the brain. The innovative 3-tesla MRI hardware is an important step in JARA-BRAIN’s continuous infrastructure development.
