Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics

Dear visitors:

We would like to welcome you to the web pages of the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics, where we have compiled the most important facts on our clinic, the treatment we offer, our research and teaching activities and whom to contact if you want more detailed information.

If you are a patient or a referring doctor, we recommend starting with the patient care page, where you will find an overview of the wide range of treatment that we offer with links to outpatient, day patient and inpatient services.

Students can find information on the courses we offer and on practical training at our clinic by visiting the teaching page. Doctors, psychologists, nursing staff and other health-care professionals can find out about our range of psychiatry-related further education and advanced training by visiting the further education page.

As a university institution, the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the University Hospital RWTH Aachen is very active in research. Our researchers and scientists are working on new methods for diagnosis and treatment within the framework of JARA-BRAIN - a scientific partnership with Forschungszentrum Jülich - and within the framework of the International Research Training Group " The Neuroscience of Modulating Aggression and Impulsivity in Psychopathology " (IRTG 2150), which includes international partners such as the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  The department is structurally connected with Forschungszentrum Jülich in the joint JARA-BRAIN Institute “Brain structure function relationships: Decoding the human brain at systemic levels”. You can find more information on our areas of research by clicking research.

We hope we have been able to give you an idea of the work we do here at the clinic. If you'd like to know more, we'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.
