Center for Mental Health for Students (ZPG)
Dear undergraduate and graduate students,
Emotional crises and psychological problems can affect anyone at anytime in their life. If you are in distress or need to talk to someone you should first contact the psychological care services provided by your university (RWTH Aachen student counseling service and FH Aachen psycho-social counseling center). The teams of experienced psychologists working here will usually be able to help you.
Sometimes, however, persistent problems and even serious mental illnesses can lie behind psychological crises. In these cases, our team of psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers are there to offer help and advice. They consult on the following problems (among others):
- Mood disorders
- Addictions
- States of anxiety and compulsive disorders
- Alterations in perception
- Sleep disturbances
The Center for Mental Health for undergraduate and graduate students as well as PhD-candidates (ZPG) is a collaboration between RWTH Aachen and FH Aachen at the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the University Hospital RWTH Aachen (UKA). The center complements the psycho-social support services provided at both institutions. Undergraduate, graduate students and PhD-candidates from all faculties of both institutions are entitled to consultations free of charge. The content of what is discussed will of course remain confidential.
