The number of publications listed in the important databases Web of Science and PubMed rose from 690 in 2000 to more than 1600 in the meantime. The quality of the work - measured by the so-called impact factor - has also increased: from an average of 2.35 in 2000 to 4.3 in 2017.
Similarly pleasing is the development of third-party funding, which increased from 7.5 million euros in 2000 to just under 44 million euros in 2017, an almost six-fold increase.
