Translational Neurosciences

The research focus "Translational Neuroscience" at the Faculty of Medicine, RWTH Aachen University, encompasses both clinical and basic scientific research in the broad field of neuroscience. We concentrate on three main themes:

  • Neurodegeneration and plasticity
  • Motor and sensory functions, emotion and cognition
  • Neuronal excitability

At the core of our activities, which also connect all three focal areas, is the translational approach to conducting disease-related and therapy-relevant research.

We employ a wide range of methods, including molecular and technological approaches, imaging, computational techniques, as well as clinical and behavioral studies.
