This study examined whether transcranial electrical stimulation, a non-invasive brain stimulation method using weak electrical currents, can help reduce symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. By combining three meta-analytic approaches, the researchers found a moderate benefit for OCD symptoms and identified promising stimulation parameters and brain targets to guide more effective, personalized future treatments. Their paper, “Transcranial electrical stimulation for the treatment of obsessive–compulsive disorder: a triple meta-analysis”, was honored with the “Paper of the Month” award for June 2026.
Paper of the month: Preisträger Dr. Mohammad Ali Salehinejad
